Historic St. Paul A.M.E. Church is committed to building Godβs House, growing Godβs people, and walking Godβs way through Christ-centered worship, biblical teaching, community service, historic preservation, and faithful stewardship. Grounded in Scripture and guided by prayer, we seek to strengthen the church, nurture disciples, and serve as a living witness of faith, freedom, and hope in our community.
Founded 1820
Historic St. Paul A.M.E. Church is one of the oldest continuously active African Methodist Episcopal congregations in Lexington, Kentucky, established in 1820. Our historic 1826 sanctuary holds deep significance in African American history and is associated with the Underground Railroad. Rooted in faith, freedom, service, and community, we carry forward a longstanding legacy of worship, outreach, education, and service. Our online store helps support our ministry, special events, community programs, and the preservation of this sacred historic landmark.
